Physically, our server is extremely secure. It sits in a building with a 24 hour monitored security system. Complete backups are done three times each day and stored off-site. Our payment system is handled by PayPal which uses 128 bit encryption to secure payment information. At no time do we EVER have access to our customers' credit card information.
We do not sell, distribute or otherwise abuse any of the information that you provide to us. If you start getting spam e-mail after placing an ad with us, it's probably because you provided your e-mail address in your ad. So be careful. In fact, you might consider signing up for a "throwaway" address with Yahoo or Google to use in your ad.
Send the category that you want to Ad Support. If we find it appropriate, we will add it.
We currently offer three basic options for $10, $15 or $29 for 15, 30 and 45 days. If you need more than one photo, simply choose the 30-day package. If you'd like more than five photos, select the 45-day option. You can end the ad early if you wish (see below).

You can mail a check or money order payable to Carolina Currents to: Carolina Currents, P.O. Box 1090, Oriental NC 28571. Add $1 for our manual posting fee. Your ad will be posted when your check has cleared. Contact Us for an email address to send your text and photos.
Unfortunately not. Think of it like a newspaper. Once it's in print, you can't erase all of that ink. If you have an extreme case of an inaccuracy that needs to be corrected, contact Ad Support with an explanation.
Yes. Simply log onto your account, click on the link "Your Current Ads". Next to the ad you want to discontinue there will be a link labeled "End Ad".
Warning! Once you've ended the ad, it cannot be resumed except as a new ad.

Please note that photos can be uploaded only after adding your text and Paypal details.
To upload photos for your ad, the following criteria must be met.
1. Photos must be in JPEG format. Most, if not all digital camera produce their files in JPEG format. Make sure that you have selected that format on your camera. Other formats that cameras produce are RAW and TIFF. Usually the default setting is JPEG.
2. Make sure the photo is not more than 5MB in size. At the highest resolution setting, most digital cameras produce images in the 1.5 MB to 3.5 MB range. If it is larger than 5 MB, open it up in your photo editing software and save it at a smaller size.
3. Last, make sure the classified rate plan allows you to attach photos to your ad.
4. If all the above is met and you are still having problems, contact Ad Support with your name, phone number and the date your ad was placed for prompt help.
If you shot the file at your camera's regular high resolution, you probably ended up with a file between 1 MB and 3 MB. Since we are talking screen resolution on the web and not print resolution, you simply need to open the file in your favorite photo editing software and re-save the file at a lower resolution. Then upload the file.
You will need to contact Ad Support with your name, phone number and a brief description of your ad. We will fix the problem as soon as possible.
When you upload a photo to Carolina Currents Classifieds we do not rotate or change anything with the photo. You will need to open the photo in your photo editing software and rotate the photo to the proper perspective. Then contact Ad Support so we can delete the improperly oriented photo.

Log into the classified site and click on the link "Your Current Ads." If your ad is eligible for photos, there will be an "Add Photos" link beside the ad in question.
You will be prompted to upload your photos after you've submitted your text and made your payment via Paypal.
Of course not, but we do recommend them. All studies find that advertising with photos is far more effective than ads without photos.
If you run into any problems with uploading photos, we are ready to assist. Just contact Ad Support. Please don't phone us at this stage. We'll contact you.
Make sure you describe the problem with a little detail. Please don't simply write and say "It doesn't work".
Also, include a telephone number and a good time to call so we can get to the root of the problem faster than exchanging e-mails back and forth.
